More Than a Gym
A Standard. A System. A Culture.
We’re a performance company built on science, integrity, and community here to develop strong, capable humans who perform at the highest level, in sport and in life.
The GVN Story
At GVN Performance, everything starts with purpose. What began as a small group of athletes training together has grown into one of the Midwest’s premier performance companies serving youth, collegiate, professional athletes, and adults across four locations in Illinois and Michigan.
The story starts in Oak Park, Illinois, where a nine-year-old Brian Galivan first stepped onto the ice in a pair of rental skates. That moment ignited a lifelong commitment to movement, performance, and personal growth and would later form the foundation of a business that combines world-class coaching with science-backed systems.
From NHL veterans to everyday athletes, GVN was built for those who want to do things the right way: with intention, with discipline, and with a long-term mindset.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you train athletes of all ages and skill levels?
Yes. We typically train athletes from age 11 and up. In some cases, we will take younger athletes.
Do I need to be an athlete to train at GVN?
No. Our well-rounded coaching staff works with everyone from elite athletes to adults focused on general fitness, health, and longevity.
How do I know which program is right for me?
The best way to determine the right program is to schedule an assessment with a coach at a location near you. From there, we’ll build the best plan for your individual needs.
What should I expect at my first session?
Each client or athlete completes a full one-hour assessment that addresses orthopedic joint limitations, body composition goals, injury and training history, functional movement analysis, force plate testing, and overall goals.
Do you offer custom or sport-specific training?
Yes. Our expert-level coaches have experience training athletes across a wide range of sports.
Can I train at multiple GVN locations?
Yes. However, you typically need to sign up at each individual location.
How do I book a session or get started?
Contact the performance director at the location you’re interested in by phone or email to begin the process.
